Xiaomi Can launch Next Month Mi 8 SE(rebranded Mi8i) and Mi Band 3 in India


Xiaomi is planning to launch the new set of products in India now after unveiling it in China, last week includes Mi8, Mi8 Explorer edition and Mi Band3. Significantly Xiaomi has not mentioned clearly about the official dates to launch new phones in India.

But from our sources in the tech industry mentioned that Xiaomi can launch Mi8 Se in India in end of July or start of August. Moreover, they mentioned that the Phone will be launched with the distinctive named, Mi 8I. The ‘i’ will be signifying the country name India which will be based on the theme “Made in India” and “Made For India”.

We want to mention here for those who can’t recall, Xiaomi way back in 2015 launched the Mi4i as the first smartphone, on Made for India theme. The link to Xioami’s product page also signifies the evidence.

The Mi8i will be launched alongside the third generation of Mi band i.e., Mi band 3. In addition to this, we want to tell you that who all expecting the Mi8 and Mi8 explorer edition in India, then you all advise clasp your breath coz company has no plans still to unveil it in India.

No Doubt, Company has captured the major market share in India and among that segment under 15,000 is quite popular but after this news, it seems like the company is seeking to conquer the higher price segment too.

Mi 8SE and Mi Band 3: Specification

The Mi 8SE(Mi 8i) comes with a smaller display as compared to Mi8, it measures 5.88- a full-screen display which is equivalent to the traditionally 5.2′ inch body grip. The phone is using Samsung AMOLED display panel with body ratio of 81.3%, supports HDR10 content, and protected with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. This phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor and it is the first phone in the world to support the Qualcomm Mid-tier processor for the smartphone. This CPU is designed with eight kryo cores in 4X4 configuration, which can perform at the clock speed of 2.2Ghz. This Chipset also equipped to use the AI proficiency as like high-end Snapdragon 845 processor.

For Photography, xiaomi mobile uses ultra-sensitive dual camera setup at the back with 12Megapixel with f/1.9 as primary sensor and 5-megapixel with f/2.0 as supportive sensor. The camera supports Gyro- EIS, dual pixel phase autodetection and portrait mode. And the front camera is equipped with the 20-megapixel sensor and autofocus and portrait option. The AI bokeh and AI smart beauty for perfect selfies.

In term of software, it is expected to launch with Android 8.0 OS over Xiaomi’s new custom OS MIUI 10. The device to fueled with 3120mAh of battery with fast charging option and Type-c port. As per the image, it is clear that Xiaomi this time has planned to remove the headphone jack 3.5mm from it.

The new Mi band unlike from its predecessor, this time it was launched  OLED display over it which measure 0.75 display. Th New feature is added to it, an integrated microphone to answer the call directly from it. Unlike some feature of Mi Band 2 is still enabled in it like in-app and call notification. The company has also claimed a water resistant up to 50 meters underwater.

The New Mi Band3 will support any phone with Android Os 4.4 (or above)  or Apple phone Os 9.0and above. The auto-locking option is also added in this band for the first time from Xiaomi. Apparently, you also get a motion tracker, heart-rate (PPG) sensor, a triaxial acceleration sensor, and the ability to monitor sleep activity. It comes with a 110mAh battery which is claimed to last up to 20 days on a single charge.

MI 8i and Mi Band 3: Price

The Mi 8 SE is already launched in China for the price tag of 1,799 yuan which roughly equalizes to Rs. 18,970. As after seeing the specs, we are expecting this phone to launch in India with priced under Rs. 20,000 around. Meanwhile, the Mi Band 3 is going on sale in China with a price tag of CNY 169 which is roughly Rs.1,800. There is another version of this watch with NFC support that cost CNY 199 (approx. Rs.2,100). The Indian sale of the watches should also be around these price point.
