As per the latest report by the Wall Street Journal published on Sunday proclaimed Amazon employees are involved in the unethical practices. Yes, the employees pointed out the company’s China division. Hereby, the report employees sellers and ex-sellers are offering the bribes to them in return for the exchange of user sensitive data like email address, sales data and their buying habits. Even though the agreement between them also made on deleting the bad customer reviews on their concerning products.
These illegal and unethical practices provoked in China because of the high competition in the market, which results to do so unfair means. Anyhow amazon has already launched the investigation in result to this before any havoc circumstances will be created for the brand and the entity.
Alongside this Amazon has made some of the high management changes within the organisation of the China division to know the real faces behind the Nexus and to stop such unfair means.
Moreover, the report discloses, how the nexus operated and carried out. The middlemen carry out the conversation between the sellers and the employees. Though it uses the mediation like WeChat(social media platform) to gather such employees data among all. Around $300 to $2000 amount of transaction is offered to the employees to take down/removed the bad reviews from the desired product, along with the sale metrics and restoring the banned accounts from the website. Usually, the 5 bad reviews removal is offered as per one transaction.
Su to the tough competition in the competitive market outside it relatively signifying that low waged employees are involved in this unethical means.
However, the company’s VP of Amazon’s International Seller Services, Eric Broussard- investigated in may itself and found some embroiled hands from the USA itself also. So, the company has taken the investigation part to its main division too. Apart from this company official stated that:
“We have strict policies and a Code of Business Conduct & Ethics in place for our employees. We implement sophisticated systems to restrict and audit access to information. We hold our employees to a high ethical standard and anyone in violation of our Code faces discipline, including termination and potential legal and criminal penalties. In addition, we have zero tolerance for abuse of our systems and if we find bad actors who have engaged in this behavior, we will take swift action against them, including terminating their selling accounts, deleting reviews, withholding funds, and taking legal action. We are conducting a thorough investigation of these claims.”
